And don&#39;t worry: I don&#39;t throw tomatoes &lt;smile&gt;.<br /><br />True: If a man is following God&#39;s leading, his wife should be happy to follow. In fact, God should be leading her that way as well. But I would posit that men who are following God&#39;s direction will realize when their wives have been called by God to do something great for Him. In fact, in those cases, husbands must encourage their wives to walk in those paths.<br /><br />Perhaps I&#39;m a little biased because my mom started Sonlight and my dad recognized that she should do that and so has come along side and helped her in the thing God placed on her heart.<br /><br />But I agree with you: There is much blessing in submitting ourselves to God&#39;s will and the authorities He has placed over us. On the other hand, we must be open to when He calls us to act. Christ demonstrated both of these for us in how He died on the cross and how He interacted with the religious leaders of His day. Honestly my feelings are a bit different. God&#39;s model is a patriarchal family system where the husband is the leader, the ultimate decision maker. He may consult his wife, his helpmeet, but ultimate responsibility lies on his shoulders. <br /><br />Now before I lose someone let me state that if a man is the spiritual leader that God expects him to be, praying and putting his will in submission to God&#39;s will, then what woman would not want to follow that husband&#39;s lead? <br /><br />If a husband is not following God, as is sometimes the case, I still feel a wife is blessed by obedience to her husband WHEN the husband&#39;s guidance is not in direct violation of God&#39;s laws. <br /><br />So there are my 2 cents.
