Hey Luke,
I have an idea for a book that I want to run past you. Next year my kids will study Core 5 and I was looking at the Sonlight Science 5. I noticed books on medicine and nutrition and wondered if a book on how drugs work wouldn't be a cool addition. I don't know if such a book exists for kids, but I'd enjoy writing one and thought maybe my kids could illustrate it. One of the things I've noticed about Sonlight is that if you can't find the book you want, you write or publish it yourselves. I have a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences and taught Pharmacotherapeutics for nurse practitioners in grad school. I've also taught at the undergrad level. Not like I need another project, I just thought it might be neat to have a book introducing kids to how drugs work. (Actually, few adults have an understanding of this either. The parents might enjoy it as much as the kids!) What do you think?

Celee, if you're passionate about the project, I'd say: Go for it! As for Sonlight's needs in this area... that's a question for Product Development and Sarita. I'll pass this along to them <smile>. The only I time I remember studying anything about how drugs work was in Mr. Corson's Psychology class, which has been turned into Sonlight's Psychology program... of course, it makes a ton of sense to introduce kids to these ideas a lot earlier than high school <smile>.
Those are my initial thoughts...

I'll put it on my list :) .
