Your Favorite Christian Companies?

Sonlight is a Christian company. But what does that mean? What does it mean to be a Christian company?

I've been kicking around some ideas myself, but I'm interested in what you think.

What Christian companies/groups do you love?

What makes them "Christian"?

I don't think a company can be Christian. It can be run ethically and morally by Christian people, but only people can be Christians.

I have a business, I make and sell soap. I run the business using the Golden Rule as my motto, and I am a Christian-- but the business is not Christian.

It may be splitting hairs, but I think it is an important distinction.

I have been a part of several companies that were run by Christians. In all cases they were worse business to be a part of than the several secular companies I have been a part of. They mainly had lower ethical standards. This is really sad to be writing. But on the other hand, I have seen and been a part of many ministries that flourished and were and encouragement to me. Maybe that makes part of the difference, the way the company sees itself. Just some thoughts on my very limited experience.

Sorry, grammar must not be my forte tonight.

Great points, Jill and Katie. If you noticed... I incorporated both ideas in my next post <smile>. Thanks so much!
