Tell Us What You Think

The traditional school year is wrapping up. The sun is shining. And Gandalf the Grey rides to ...er... wait. What was I talking about?

Ah, yes: The coming warmer days and the end of another school year (for those of you who don't school year-round). Right now a common blog theme is "what I'm planning for next year" along with posts about how this year went.

And that's what I want to know: How did this year go for you?

Please head over to sonlight.com and leave a review of the curriculum package you used. Please rate the program and give your honest opinion. We use this information to help improve our product and better serve homeschoolers around the world.

Granted, I realize that I run the risk of biasing your review a little by asking for it now. You may very well be in the only-a-few-more-weeks-and-then-we-can-start-a-different-Core mode, but please try to remember the good times you've had this year too <smile>. Thanks!

Post a review of your curriculum package now. And if you're itching to see what you'll do next year, perhaps browse a little as well...

And even if you don't get around to sharing your feedback, enjoy your weekend and I'll see you on Monday!

Now, now, Luke. Your Australian and other Southern-Hemisphere people are only four and a half months or so into THEIR cores. So... you will likely get honest mid-year opinions mixed in there as well. :)

to Mrs C: thanks! And some of us are only a month in, because of travel delays to pick up the next Core...

but LUKE, I have a serious question. I've hesitated to review whole Cores so far, because I am re-using older versions. Granted, not a lot has changed, but very likely anything I'd have negative to say has probably been fixed. (not that I have anything negative to say....)

Do you guys feel it is fair/honest to review a product that might have changed in the years between my purchase and 2nd (or even 3rd) use?? Or should I stick with trying to do reviews on individual books instead...? -TXHeather

Hmm... good point, Mrs. C. However, for those just starting a Core, I hope they've already left their review closer to the time they finished the last one <smile>.

Heather, that is a good question. We do update our Cores every year, so unless some particular aspect really bugged you, I don't know if it'd be worth it to note in your review that there was a typo on page 6 of something <smile>. However, feedback on old Cores is completely fair and honest... especially if you state up front that you're reviewing an older Core. I think it would be a great reminder of how many times you can reuse Cores. Just say something like: "I'm totally loving our third time through the 2002 Core 2! However--and I don't know if they've fixed this in the current program--I have not been impressed with..."

Sound good?
