The Blizzard of '09

Well, this is what it looks like out my window at the moment... and getting worse by the minute:

Snow on My Car

There was no snow falling when I got here at 6:45 this morning.

That's the beauty of Colorado.

And that's why we're probably going to be closing Sonlight for the day.

I was going to blog about this article, but I can't find the words (especially since they'll be pushing me out the door soon <smile>). The article makes me sad because it comes across so nasty to some and is such an important message to others. It's as if I get a glimpse of the communication problems on both ends, but I can't figure out a way to make it better.

If you have an insights or ideas, I'd love to hear them. I just don't feel that I would be able to communicate effectively about this topic. Your words of wisdom are welcome!

And if you're in the midst of inclement weather, may you and your family be safe!

That's pretty much what it looks like here up north in CO, too.

About the abortion clinic owners and their death in the airplane crash. I think we get into very murky waters indeed when we try to distinguish God's will vs. the reality of living in a fallen world. Remember Job's so-called friends. I think we do best letting God be God and not trying to determine what is His will and what is not.

I'm with Jill on this one...

I just had my day in the [snow] at the beginning of March, in VA. It far from filled my bucket, tho . . .

{dreamy sigh}

I'd trade this rain for that snow in a heartbeat. :)

Just finished the article.

Perhaps there is no way to tidy the communication line . . .

Yet it gives a mighty pause for one to take note, and adjust one's 'fear of the Lord' spiritual meter.

{reverent silence}

Shauna, well the sun has come out now <smile>.

Jill, that is a great point. I hadn't even made the Job connection. That's very good.

Karen, me too <smile>.

Angi, I'm not sure what your rain situation is, but if it's not too bad it's nicer to drive on <smile>. And, yes, there is need to take pause--which was the original intent, I think--but you're probably right: The mess is in the communication line.

Thank you all for sharing your thoughts, and sympathies. It looks like the roads are clearing now.

Yep, we just left Colorado on Wednesday. Look like we just missed it. But we did have a bit of white on Tuesday in Canon City. Sure missing my old stomping grounds:)

Honestly, I don't think there are any words necessary after reading the article about the plane crash.

I do find it fascinating that in all the news reporting that I read when the crash happened, I never once heard a single word about the family relationship/business....

Tricia, well, I'm glad you didn't get stuck in it. And Colorado is a wonderful place to live (even with blizzards) <smile>.

Tammy, I thought it was interesting too.

Wow. My friend used to live in Highlands Ranch CO and has told me that three times in a row a church activity in JULY was snowed out. I think I'll take my near sea level snow is a rarity mid-Atlantic life ;-)

Heather, Colorado is still a great place to live... especially since it can blizzard one day and be 70 the next <smile>.
